Road Trip!!

Hey everyone!  So excited today because we are traveling to St. George to see my parents.  They've just returned from their home in Wisconsin for a short visit, and are back in Utah until May.  We are also bringing home all the carpet from their home, as they got new carpet a couple of weeks ago.  The carpet we are bringing back is in perfect condition.  It's very high quality carpet, still sparkling clean, and I just couldn't see letting it go to waste.  We'll re-carpet our entire upstairs with it when we get back.  We are also celebrating my Mom's birthday while we're there.  It was back in February, so we decided we'd celebrate with her when we saw her again.  Here's the card I made for her.

I've got a few more new cards to post when I get back.  Have a fabulous weekend, and pray for Spring!

First Day of Spring?

Really?  Sun is shining.  Looks great from inside.  But, step outside and it's BITTER cold.  I guess yesterday (Sunday) was officially the first day of spring.  Neighbors were walking to church, Gage walked home with his best friend Tawny, even came home and put shorts on.  He's been waiting for this day.  Then this morning we get up and it's forecasted to drizzle on and off all day.  Well, they didn't lie.  Currently it's raining so hard it's beating against the north facing windows of our home.  Spring.  Again, I ask...really?  Here's hoping it gets better soon.  Tried to cheer myself up with this simple Cricut card.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Hi everybody!  My family has always celebrated for St. Patrick's Day as my maternal grandmother's last name was Maloney.  She was able to visit Ireland at least once with her siblings before she passed away, and I'm so glad she did.  It was the topic of many conversations during her latter years.  I miss her terribly still.  Here is the card I made for today.  My green shamrock seems more yellow in the picture.  I'm not sure why.  Remember, I'm not a photographer, and I'm still trying to figure light sources and so on.  Here you go...

Whatever today means to you, I hope it's a good one.

What a week!

Hi there!  Most of you know that sickness had reared it's ugly head at our home again last week.  Unbelieveable, but true.  I tried so hard to keep Gage away from everyone who was coughing, sneezing, had a runny nose, etc., but NOOOO; he got it anyway.  A night of 102 degree fevers took us to the doctor the next morning.  Sure enough, he was wheezing, coughing, and so lethargic that he couldn't even walk.  He slept just about the entire time we were there, and we were there a while.  His oxygen content in his blood was too low again, so we started oral steroids again.  Yuck!  We also had to have oxygen delivered to our home again, but this time he had to wear it continually.  He had breathing treatments every 4 hours as well.  This meant being home for the next 5 days.  This past Monday he returned to the doctor and his asthma was better, but he was still feverish.  He now has a nasty ear infection in his left ear.  Poor kid!  He's on the ol' Amoxicillin train again.  Good news is he returned to school today!  Yay!!  He was so excited.  He got to make a St. Patrick's Day hat.  He wore it out to the car, and was too cute!

I've tried to re-load my slideshow again, but it's still not quite right.  If you click on a picture, you can see it full size.  I think it takes you directly to my Photobucket account.  I hope those of you who wanted to see some of my stuff can get to it.  If not, please leave me a comment and let me know if you have any ideas, or tell me what it's doing when you click on the picture of the card.  I'd really appreciate it.  I'll pose some of my new ones here later.

What A Let Down!

Warning:  This is a ranting post about the finale of The Bachelor on Monday night.  If your smarter than me, I, whatever, and don't get involved in such nonsense, you'll want to skip this.

Did you watch?  Most of you are probably much more well adjusted, and doing much more important things on Monday nights rather than watching T.V.; but not me.  Nope.  I got sucked into The Bachelor again!!  I'm so weak.  And I'm also so confused!  Really? Vienna?  Blech.  Should have seen this coming with all of the contention that seemed to surround her, but I didn't.  I thought Tenley had this thing wrapped up!  She couldn't have been more perfect for Jake (except for bringing up the ex-husband to anyone who would listen).  She was so happy, smart, adventurous, honest, and so pretty!!  His whole family loved her!  Heck, they all even cried together!  They're my kind of people!  And then it happened.  Vienna came in, and everyone went "Ick."  However, they all slowly turned as the evening went on, and ultimately decided she was just misunderstood.  Whatever.  Jake's off his rocker!

To make things worse, The Final Rose (or something like that) aired right after.  There was Tenley looking as cute as ever, being just as wonderful as she was when he rejected her (for NO REASON he can put his finger on).  She asked a few questions he still couldn't answer, and she wished him well in his future with Vienna.  He'll need it.  Then Vienna came out for their first time in public.  They hugged and kissed, then Jeffery Osbourne (I think) sang the theme song from the show, "On The Wings of Love."  The lights went down, they danced, made out, and he overly exaggerated the words, 'I love you' so the camera would be sure to pick it up.  Ugh!!  Lastly, Ali was named as the new Bachelorette.  Not excited, but I'm sure I'll watch.  Hmm...I think I need to get out more!

March 1st already!

I can't believe it. It's already March?!  Well, if that's the case, you know what's coming.  St. Patrick's Day!  Having a little one helps me get into the spirit of all the holidays.  He's counting down the days until he can wear green and pinch those who don't; and he loves window decorations for any holiday!  I've got to get my St. Patrick's Day cards finished and in the mail.  My Grandma was Irish, and very proud of it.  I can't help but think of her more often this time of year.  As you can see, my little guy also helped me pick the background for my blog.  WOW; it's green!!  Bear with me just until the 17th, then we can finally find something nice for spring.  Oh Spring, where are you?  I'm so ready.  Hope it's a great month for everyone!
